South Putnam
has to very happy with where the draw slotted them in the upcoming sectional.
The Eagles head to Tri-West where they drew into a half of the bracket that is
a WCC invitational. They will open with Cascade and then would play the winner
of the Cloverdale-North Putnam contest. If you are sensing the absence of an
important name, you are right. Speedway drew into the other half of the bracket
and will face the host Bruins. They would then see the winner of Covenant
Christian and Monrovia.
In 3A, Greencastle
travels to the Edgewood Sectional where they will face Sullivan in the first
round.
We don’t
want to necessarily forewarn the rest of the state, but there are a couple of
powers lurking in the WCC come tourney time. South Putnam continues to be one
of the few undefeated teams in the state and is up to fifth in this week’s statewide
poll. Meanwhile, Speedway has navigated a ****** schedule to post a 14-5 record
and a seventh place ranking this time around. Here is a look at the complete
poll in all classes.
